PANTONE Colour of the Year
A new year means new interior trends and like any year, this year's trends will be heavily inspired by PANTONE's colour of the year. Although PANTONE isn't a British company, they have been influencing all aspects of art and design since the early 1960s and have certainly made a name for themselves. Releasing their first 'Colour of the Year' in 1999, they have gone on to release one every year since and for 2021, PANTONE has revealed that there's not one but two Colours of the Year! Please say hello to PANTONE 17-5104 Ultimate Grey + PANTONE 13-0647 Illuminating.
Leatrice Eisemen, Executive Director of the PANTONE COLOR INSTITUTE has said "The union of an enduring Ultimate Grey with the vibrant yellow Illuminating expresses a message of positivity supported by fortitude. Practical and rock-solid but at the same time warming and optimistic, this is a colour combination that gives us resilience and hope". After experiencing such an unprecedented time in our lives last year, and we can imagine we will be experiencing the same for the most part this year, colours which inspire resilience and hope are definitely needed!
Bringing the Outdoors In
Bringing the outdoors in is another big theme we will see throughout 2021. After a prolonged period of time being stuck inside away from nature, we'll see many natural elements, art pieces and soft furnishings paying homage to the outside world. From earthy tones introduced by woods and dried pampas grass to bold and bright colours which are reflective of flowers, birds and pretty creepy crawlies, there's so much to love about this trend and so many ways to incorporate some of the world into your home to create a feeling of calmness and serenity.
Incorporating 2021 interior trends into your home
For some, grey and yellow may not seem like the most natural combination to add into your home but as so much of our time recently has involved many of us to step outside of our comfort zones, why not give it a go?! From grey and yellow to nature-inspired homeware, Seed Home Designs incorporate both of these top 2021 interior trends throughout their pieces, meaning you can easily add a splash of each into your home with just a few taps of a button!
